Dr. Prem Reddy President Biden Honors for Lifelong Philanthropy and Service

Dr. Prem Reddy, MD, FACC, Founder, Chairman, and CEO of Prime Healthcare, has been honored with the Joseph R. Biden Lifetime Achievement Award by President Biden. This prestigious award recognizes Dr. Reddy’s exceptional dedication to providing quality healthcare to communities.

In addition to this honor, Dr. Reddy received the first-ever Human Values Award at the Global Leadership Forum and a lifetime achievement award from Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer. He was also recognized by the American Association of Physicians of Indian Origin in 2023.

Dr. Reddy, a cardiologist from rural India, founded Prime Healthcare in 2001. Under his leadership, Prime has grown to 44 hospitals and over 300 outpatient locations across 14 states, employing more than 45,000 people. Since 2010, Prime Healthcare has contributed over $12 billion in community benefit activities.

Dr. Prem Reddy has been widely recognized for his visionary leadership and philanthropy. As a physician, entrepreneur, and philanthropist, he has dedicated his life to transforming community hospitals and giving back through initiatives that advance medicine and education. He founded the Dr. Prem Reddy Family Foundation and the Prime Healthcare Foundation, which together hold assets of $1.3 billion, all donated by Dr. Reddy and his family.

In 2018, Dr. Reddy founded the California University of Science and Medicine (CUSM) in San Bernardino County, California, to promote health equity and address the physician shortage. CUSM, which celebrated its first graduation in May 2022, aims to advance medical education and research. Dr. Reddy serves as Chairman of the Board of CUSM.
